Mary Whitelaw

Mary Elizabeth Whitelaw, 50, of Hot Springs, passed away, Sunday, March 6, 2022 at UVA Medical Center in Charlottesville.

She was born in Baltimore, MD on May 22, 1971, a daughter of the late Robert Eugene Whitelaw and Mary Lougene (Parks) Sublett.

A sweet and caring soul, Mary never let her disability get in the way. She always had a smile on her face and enjoyed company. She was always willing to help her friends and was known to keep her nurses in line. She loved chihuahuas, frogs and collecting ceramic frogs. She will be remembered for having a positive impact on those who she interacted with.

She is survived by her two sons, Chris Whitelaw of Warm Springs and Joseph Whitelaw of Monterey; grandchildren, Levi, Aiden, Autumn and Logan Whitelaw; brother, Nicholas Whitelaw of McDowell; sisters, Cathy Beckner of Keystone Heights, Fla and Wanda Mooney of Monterey; special aunt, Linda Myers; as well as a number of extended family members.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her caregiver and partner, Bobby Hise.

A celebration of life will be held and announced at a later date.
